A silent lie; Changing my life

by The Sky is Falling   Sep 18, 2007

Lost in your eyes
I can't say no whenever you look at me.
Ask me anything and I'll do it for you.
Go to the end of the world,
for something make believe.
Just ask, and I'll do it.
Wrapped so tightly around your finger.
Just love and devotion in my eyes.
The shock sets in.
I wasn't alone.
There was another,
Only he was more.
Icyness slowly wraps around my heart.
The coldness settles in your eyes.
"I'm leaving you and getting married to him."
My heart shatters.
My lungs stop.
Eyes blank
Face pale.
I just nod and walk away.
Speechless some may say.
My body shudders, collapes against the bed.
"I love you"
Slowly whispers threw my mind.
So many times,
Did you mean it?
Or was it all a joke?
The hate never comes,
the pain never leaves.
Now, as I look upon you now and then.
Married.
Unhappy we both are.
For you were my true love.
But I was just a who** by your side.

This poem almost brought tears to my eyes. It was so sad and full of so much pain.. I can relate to it in so many ways. Something related to this happened to me and my ex, but he didn't get married or anything like that. He did cheat on me however with 3 other girls and I felt like nothing. Great job, please keep up the awesome work!! 5/5 <3 <3 <3
