Fighting for our freedom
beyond the safety of their homes
trying to protect everything they love
or believe in.

Bravery and courage
is covering their fear
as they say, "Good Bye"
to the ones they love dear.

One by one,
they get sent away
really hoping,
that they could stay.

Reaching their destination
and preparing to fight
all the while
bullets are whizzing by.

Tears are streaming down their faces
knowing some wouldn't make it through the night
but fighting for their freedom,
with all their might!
