Halloween in a modern world

by Elias Fernandez   Sep 19, 2007

Ah, kids nowadays barely feel fright at the thought of a ghoul or a Wright.

The sight of a vampire or a mummy makes them laugh and they fear not on the night.

I remember the day when I was young that the in that cold autumn twilight that soon turned into night. I was shaking not from cold but from fright.

The thought that a witch or a gremlin would snatch me filled me with dread as I did not want to become part of the walking undead.

But modern kids they have none of that as they have the internet and the media to show them horrors I never knew in my childhood.

So now instead of the joyful delight at imagined fiends I weep for the kids who fears are all too real dreams.
