A Love's loss

by Arunansu   Sep 19, 2007

( This piece was originally titled Love's Loss, is a Poem's gain.
An edited version is presented here. )

One optimistic morning.

Up in the skylight
a passerine couple
hops
halts
flutters
fly.

Bicker harshly.

Cheeping Yes's
protest
plenty of screeching No's
until
they fall apart,
leaving out
dreams and feathers.

Emptied nest
murmur
unwritten verses.

Laments,
misplaced nitpicks
and the vanished whirr
seep inside
carving my poesy.

A Love's loss
becomes
a Poet's gain.
