Grandma

"Ring" Hearing the news on
The other line was
Repeating
Georgia, Julie just. . .
Expressions from my mother's
Face
She was surprised, shocked
And soon to be sad.
My mom including my sister and I
Rushed to her Wind-star
echoed from opposing car horns.
Dodging cars from long narrow streets,
Hearing screams out their windows
Seeing green lights turn a
Light
Yellow
However never stopping, we kept on
Going.
Seeing my mom like this was like a scary show
I was being left off
To baby-sit my niece and nephew
Questioning what's going on?
Hours past
Seeing my
Mother, outside the window
Her tears were raindrops pouring out onto her checks,
Moisten them.
Saying goodbye
Leaving their
House
I
Closed the door which
Felt as heavy
As the world, because
Of the words
That came out my mother
Mouth
"She died,"
