The day you left me

I would never forget,
the day you left me.
i didn't know why,
maybe you were mad at me.
i asked you to forgive me,
but you didn't say a word.
i asked my mommy what had happen to you,
and i knew it was not good with the tears in your eyes.
i never understood why must i cry when i saw nothing wrong with you.
but none wanted to tell me,
all they said was that your asleep,
and now that I'm older i understand,
on DEC,30,1998 was the day you left.
you were like my dad, you gave anything,
and everything that i had needed.
but what i want to know is.....
is it to later to cry to say my goodbyes,
can i still make you proud of me grandpa?
