Until the end.

by Becky   Sep 20, 2007

Emotions run hot,
true feelings are expressed
and freedom beckons us both.
Did you ever think
that we wanted it to be true,
that we willed ourselves into love?
That forever was our deepest desire
and not our destiny.
I once asked you to take my hand
and hold it till the end.
Well this is the end
and my hand is empty, cold.
You believed so completely that it was right,
I was the one.
But then why is your hand not in mine?
We let our hearts deceive,
let them bend the truth.
We were good for each other,
for a short while.
But now no longer.
Perhaps we'll be good for someone else now.
Another girl can be blessed with your kiss
I'll be left to steal a kiss from another.
While you heart is healing,
mine will continually be breaking.
You let go of my hand,
the one you said you'd hold
till the end.
Though you're gone
I am still waiting.
My cold hand is here,
waiting for the warmth of your own.
