Constant Pressure

by Fay   Sep 20, 2007

She steps her foot in,
The stress immediately flickers upon her face.
Heartbeat is thumping, as if she's committed a sin.
She's so afraid in competing this race.

She can no longer cope,
The pressure has hit her hard,
So weak, that she has lost all her hope.
Prolonged despair, running an entire yard.

She cannot come to accept it,
Her dreams are almost shattered,
Thats what she believes, just quit!
It's as if nothing made sense or ever mattered.

The atmosphere is so grey,
Eyes starring at her like magpies,
She no longer wants to stay.
No support, no motivation, it's all a lie.

It all seems so surreal, wake up! it's all a dream,
Drifting off and losing track,
Too many years wasted shedding a stream.
Alone, devasted and confused, she's about to crack.

P.S. comments would be appreciated, i hope it made sense, it's about the pressure of the HSC and her depression with living up to people's standards.
