The struggle to survive

by Baby Rainbow   Sep 20, 2007

She was found neglected and alone
so we rescued her and gave her a home
she fought really hard to stay alive
but in the end it was a struggle to survive

she had no fur and her legs were weak
love and care was all she would seek
in her tartan jacket she proudly stood
waiting for us to give her some food

she had her good days but also bad
seeing her struggle was incredibly sad
it was very hard when she slipped away
but she left us as a friend and not as a stray

*r.i.p. Tara, you were our angel and will be with us forever xx

I found a stray not so long ago. Literally fur stretched over bone he was in an awful state. Its the things we do in our lives that define the person we are. I may not have met you but I know from one short poem that your heart is large and in the right place.
In the end poems are just words..... your action is much more wonderful.
