Iniquity

by Beautiful Chaos   Sep 21, 2007

Sin is pouring from me,
Deadly its disguise,
Draped in guilty pleasures,
And suffocating lies.

Gluttony runs rampant,
The western world is fat,
While Africa is starving,
Lets drink another vat.

Prideful to a fault,
We have to have it all,
The body small in stature,
The ego 10 feet tall.

Consuming all our eyes do touch,
Greed the worst of any,
Even when we've seen the end,
It's still the death of many.

Envy drives a man insane,
A thirst you cannot quench,
It brings about the seeds of hate,
Which happily we drench.

Too many days spent in dream,
Wasting all we're given,
Lusting after all we know,
Can never be forgiven.

This is a very strong, and well written piece. It holds so much insight, and stinging truths. Beautifully executed, fluid, and emotive.

    A wonderful read!
