How to: Man

by samantha   Sep 21, 2007

What must I do?
What must I say?
To pluck affection
From the interesting and beautiful display

There are so few
So little and far between
That can smile like an angel
And have a devils gleam

Too few possess power
Will, thought and skill
A sort of calm patience
And yet, a rage that can be shrill

Humour and sarcasm drip from most words
Except when anger, fear or pure love
Coat flowing sentences, strung like songs sung by birds

Too few, of these creatures exist here and now
But if I should find one
Please tell me how

Shall I coax him or tempt him?
Or act as I might
With a brother, or father or friend too long out of sight

Should I blush and let out only a few small laughs
Or should I guffaw and spill most of the contents in my full glass

Should I show much too much skin?
Or hardly any at all
Or just enough that my treasures cant be considered small

Or perhaps I should merely smile my normal smile
And act as I always have

And speak my true thoughts
And show him who I am

And if there is something to be taught
I would rather die, plummeting from a cliff
Than have a man in love with whom I am not
