Beautiful Destruction

by Beautiful Chaos   Sep 22, 2007

An angels lips,
A whispered kiss,
Softly covered,
Lies you miss.

It all falls around me now,
Dreams we have forgot,
Everything we left behind,
Stars we never caught.

If my ears could hear no sound,
We'd fall into forever,
But I'm not blind, nor am I deaf,
We're heading straight for never.

No more trust and hope is gone,
The walls are falling down,
I hope I find my way back up,
Please don't let me drown.

Emotions swimming in the mire,
Your eyes are all I see,
Deceitful orbs so beautiful,
Destruction had to be.

A flood of flame, we turn to ash,
No phoenix of rebirth,
A scorch within the sands of time,
For all we were not worth.

But oh those lips and eyes that sing,
Burned within my mind,
Devastating beauty,
Where evil lay confined.

This poem has so many impressive lines, it is really deep and filed with emotions. I enjoyed in it! You really wrote it excellently. First and fifth stanzas are truly incredible but my favorite one is still:

-A flood of flame, we turn to ash,
    No phoenix of rebirth,
A scorch within the sands of time,
For all we were not worth.-
    ^Wow...
Metaphors are also great and atmosphere of this poem is superb. Simply amazing job, well done!
