That night

by Indian Comma Bean   Sep 22, 2007

The day was forgotten,
The time was elapsed,
Even my memory
erases the past.

I never thought
we would be good friends
and yet again
we never were...

But something happened
that summer night,
it was you and I
and no one else.

You pushed it behind you,
I'm sure you've forgotten.
You never utter one
single word to me.

I find it so depressing,
I find it so sad,
a person falls in love,
and goes so mad.

You fall in with friends
and forget the old,
let new bonds break
and emotions flow.

But if it happens,
if you come back.
The old won't forget
that they shared a memory.

The last thing they want
is a guilty conscience,
knowing somewhere out there,
a soul yet weeps.

When you think of
all the hate out there,
it gets so depressing,
Let love stay eternal.

Let your dreams express
the inner bindings of your mind,
let the pen write what
actions cannot.

Let not the corruption
of your spirit,
happiness is what drives
the human heart.

It's never too late to think...
