Individual

Everyday is a silent parade,
we walk down the streets
the sound of our feet
like those in a funeral.

We all wear our masks
to conceal our secrets,
and everyone seems like
they are all just one.

But who will be the first
to forget their mask,
and be the only one
to just stand out.

It takes so much courage,
it takes so much bravery,
for one to step out,
and show that they're different.

They walk to the woods,
where the stream rolls,
the birds gently calling,
and the wind blows.

It's not to hard to notice,
that it is so much better,
to just be yourself,
to take off the mask.

The leaves hit the breeze,
and the stones lay resting,
the trees all whispering,
and the clouds all rising.

And it's not long till this silent parade,
lies motionless and attent -

Gazing into the horizon...
