Tranquillity

by Indian Comma Bean   Sep 22, 2007

A mountain of clouds
crashes upon the earth,
as we are enveloped
in a catastrophe.

Chaos, disorder all around,
children falling upon the ground,
crying out in desperate plea,
oh mommy where art thee.

You wake up sweating,
you whip off the blankets
although you're freezing,
you feel scarred, burned...

A silent humming whispers
into your ears as if
to soothe your now running tears,
the sound of...serenity...

The sadness seems to
perish into darkness
as a feeling of happiness
flows around your body-

So, freely...

You gaze upon the lake
as the moonlight
cascades upon the waters
of what seems so symbolic.

Against the soil your
feet take stand as you
look out to the horizon,
the stars oh so gleaming.

The trees brushed against
sky and the bows seemed
to moan a silent hello,
it all was so-

Peaceful...

It is hardly so believable
that not just one minute ago,
a storm of such devastation,
seemed to envelop this land.

And as the bombs fall,
and the guns scream out,
we shall walk through the heart,
and we walk not alone-

For tonight we bring tranquility...
