Sleeping In An Even Number.

by ghosts in bloom   Sep 22, 2007

I sleep with
Thick-neck soldiers
Whose engraved vision
Cuts against the grain.

Heightened pillars whose
Leaflet eyes never close.

I don't have
Nightmares anymore,
And trust the dark
With bare feet now.

Oh! How brawny chestnut
Arms can ease insomnia.

The white-canopy netting mirrors
My lashes in close-woven trust.
Please close the curtains now,
I am safe between four corners.
