Goodnight Kiss

by Wings Of Flames   Sep 22, 2007

Upon the rosemary blossoms,
And the lavendar swaying soft,
My mind has now wandered,
As the scent sends aloft,

Imagine of the charcoal girl,
In hands I had rest,
I wish this was a dream,
But we are not so blessed,

I see her skin on fire,
As their hands reach inside,
I feel every sacrifice,
But at last she does subside,

Her hair greased with crimson,
And her dress ripped and torn,
Goodnight to the charcoal girl,
Into the holy mourn,

I wish I knew her evil,
That stole her from me,
Our hands never touch now,
I wish I could see,

Her eyes grey and dusted,
And today I still cry,
I wish...I just wish,
That your death was a lie.

I found this beautifully and elegaantly written...heartbreaking to read yet still worded so wonderfully.
I noticed you used a lot of fillers (I, and, etc) which kind of threw me off a little.
I loved the ending...intense and hardhitting and filled with such power.

Nicely penned! The flow was great, except that in the fifth stanza it twitched a little bit for me. This is a very sad piece, with unique language and idea behind it. The ending was superb. A pleasure to read!
