Dawn Tortured Love [Ottava Rima]

by Twisted Heart   Sep 22, 2007

Enchanted, though my heart may seem tonight
Come dawn, reality is mine to bear
Your arms may wrap me in sweet love's delight
And calm my fears with tenderness and care
Romance may find a way to stay the sight
As stardust falls upon the night we share.
But even words can't hold us very long
Beneath the bright horizon of the dawn.

Where shadows hide our love from spying eyes
At dawn our secret dreams will lose their way
Once more we wall our hearts in a disguise
Becoming perfect strangers we portray
Passing 'mongst each other we live our lives
Without a passion's thought through out the day
Liars to our love, sweet love, beneath the stars
No trace of what we hold or who we are.

As slumber's sweet embrace holds you so fair
Against the breaking of the day I fight
A few more moments that we two can share
Before the shades of red comes into sight
This life... it seems so harsh and so unfair
A love shown through the darkness of the night
How much longer must we leave our love behind
Forever crushed in shadows of our mind.

As I've said before, you're very good at writing in fixed forms. Other than that, again, the rhymes and flow were awesome.

Once again, amazingly well written. The first stanza was my favourite, but the whole thing just flowed so well.

    A pleasure to read.
