Wish You Were Here

by DoubtTheSinner   Sep 22, 2007

Do you remember those days
Where we were so naive?
Wishing that this would last
Knowing our days were numbered
Hang out at the crowded room
Putting our souls into what we wrote
Our dreams of making it big
The fans that would scream our names
The lights of the stage that would shine just for us

That was enough for us
To be together, to do what we loved
But it was never enough, never enough for you
To see me smiling back at you
You have nothing else left to say, so just say goodbye

I never could (never could) see the whole picture
The playground still waiting for us
Sitting on the swings
Talking about our dreams for hours on end
To escape this small town
To prove everyone wrong
Singing on the stage now
The fans and the lights, never meant a thing
It breaks our hearts to be torn apart

That was enough for us
To be together, to do what we loved
But it was never enough, never enough for you
To see me smiling back at you
You have nothing else left to say, so just say goodbye

Can you ever say that you wanted this?
Give up your heart and soul, just to disappear
Did you keep the photo with the two of us?
You tour it in two, after I left this small town
Wishing for this to stay the same

That was enough for us
To be together, to do what we loved
But it was never enough, never enough for you
To see me smiling back at you
You have nothing else left to say, so just say goodbye
Say goodbye...
Say goodbye...
