My Star

You once were a very close friend
I promised to be with you till the end
But in months you drifted to far
So now you can't be my star.

You left me, but I don't understand
I have been wrapped in a death band
Am I no longer worth your time?
Round you I hear my depression chime.

I don't even know who you are
Because of that you can't be my star
You're not who I remember
We were close last September.

Occassionally you tell me "Hi"
But I feel you really mean "Bye"
Our friendship has now drifted too far
So now you're not my special star.
