Who Knew

by HOLLYWOODxBANGBANG   Sep 25, 2007

Whiskey tears drowned sorrow from these eyes,
As a razor blade tore hatred into all of the lies,
Life was a one way street down to the pits of Hell,
A foolish little girl who thought she knew it all so well.

But who knew, that when the tides turned around;
She`d wipe her tears, get her feet onto the ground?
And who knew, that when she stood up to face life;
She`d turn around and tear away all of her strife?

Dirty city streets and a man who lost his mind,
It was all over, as far as she had come to find;
A mother brought to her knees, father on the streets;
The life they had made became so bittersweet.

But who knew, the end of the day held a promise:
A better tomorrow and a sweet good-bye to kiss,
And who knew, the white powder only spoke for a few,
And your fate isn`t up to anyone else, it`s up to you?

A man so hell bent on lust, pushes her to the ground;
She wants to scream for help, but no one`s around;
So sick and tired of fighting, she`d lost all of her hope;
Hung up so high on a frayed and breaking rope.

But who knew that what one did, affects others as well;
And what he did would put her through a tear-filled hell?
And who knew, that when her innocence was spared;
She would get up, show the world she wasn`t scared?

The drugs and the alcohol sing sweet torn lullabies,
But I`m so sick and tired of living a life of lies,
So I hold my fate in the palm of my hand, ready to go;
`Cuz I know if the odds are against me, I`ll only grow.
