A Poetic Year

by Sarah   Sep 25, 2007

A poetic year-

March
Wispy winds
Kite tails spin
Puffy clouds
Scatter

April
Rain falls
Buds pop-up
Colors flood
Exquisite rainbows

May
Flowers for mom
Yellow and sweet
Macaroni frames
Wrapped up nice
neat

June
Ties in all colors
Baseball caps
The start of summer
Water fights
A blast

July
Patriotic colors
White, blue and red
Picnics—fireworks
Popping overhead

August
Long warm nights
Moon high and bright
Beetles hover
Near the backdoor light

September
School books
New clothes
Fresh and crisp
Busses and chatter
Learning time begins

October
Leaves of auburn
Orange jack-o-lanterns
Little goblins, angels, and
panthers—
Candles burn
Treats in hand

November
Families
Warm scented kitchens
Grandma’s making
Her secret stuffin’
Grateful, satisfied
For all our blessings

December
A joyful time
No matter the reason
Excited children
A loving season

January
Say good-bye to the old
A new year unfolds
Noise makers
Funny hats
Parades
Balloons fly high!
Fans are chearin’

February
Valentine cards
Hearts and red roses
Boxes full of sweet
Forget-me-nots and posies

I like how you picked certain things for each month. It was very well written.
