Whispers

by Kayla Katastrophe   Sep 25, 2007

Laughing through the distance; Pushing through this crowd.
Running from my sense of being, every thing's just too loud.
I'm humming along with this melody, that's playing in my head -
Softly whispering to myself inside; I'm hanging on by a thread.

My tolerance is being tested - How much farther is the edge?
How much further till my legs walk to the end of this old ledge?
& I'm in the midst of understanding, I want so badly to know...
Why do I only hear these lonely whispers everywhere I seem to go?

I'm a broken child with no innocence - Another teen without a place,
Just another statistic on the board - Someone else with a lost face.
& My strength is diminshing; My mind is beginning to lose it's grip -
As once again, those old, rehearsed whispers slip past my dry, pale lips
