Tylor

What started out as a revengeful retreat,
I tried my hardest to keep it discrete.
Both in relationships with mine in a mess.
Betrayal, dishonestly, with nothing but stress.
I knew in the beginning friends is all we'd be.
I never thought of anything more and I'd doubt you'd disagree.
After all the years of hurt, my relationship has finally ended,
But falling for you was never intended.
I never thought of how the situation could turn,
When I'd be free of my burden you were never a concern.
The peace I've found and the smiles back on my face.
All those bad memories I have happily erased.
Now I'm a little scared and don't know what to do,
I find myself often thinking of you.
How could this happen?
Where is the answer to my question?
You must have left me with quite an impression.
It wasn't your Looks, Jewelry, or money.
It wasn't your words that left me feeling funny.
Intelligence, style and the family values you posses.
Your sense of humor and personality never the less.
I'm single now and friends we remain.
Anything more I'll try to restrain.
You aren't mine to want,
You aren't mine to hold,
But you are my friend pure as gold.
