Your Eyes

by Jess   Sep 25, 2007

Who are you?
Why are you so hard to recognize?
I only remember
When I look inside those eyes

Sometimes I think you are beautiful
And others you can be so unappealling
You fool everyone with your superficial disguise
But your eyes show me what you're feeling

You are trapt inside a mask
A mask that doesn't seem quite your own
And I know you wish that others would look
Into your eyes to discover things unknown

Your waist, your waist should be smaller
And your legs, less muscle, more long
And your hair isn't quite how you want it to be
But those eyes, those eyes belong

Why is there only one person
Who can take off your disguise
Why is it that only he
Allows your face to match your eyes

And why do you make me judge you
When he is not around
Why not feel comfort in the skin
To which your eyes are bound

But who are you?
This person I always see
I need your eyes to know
That you are just a reflection of me

(Kind of done on the spot....so I'd love suggestions :-) )

This poem makes me sad to read, in a way I guess that is a sign of how genuine it feels and a testament to the quality. You owe jay a comment! (i think) i been checking from time to time to see if you returned the favor. I like to spy on people when they least expect it...like reading their comments to other people
