I can’t promise not to hurt you,
But I promise to say I’m sorry if I do.
I can’t promise not to cry,
But I promise I’ll tell you why.
I can’t promise forever,
But I promise the rest of my life.
I can’t promise my heart right now,
Because you broke it the other night.
I used to say forever,
Is what you were to me,
Then I looked into your eyes,
And no longer did I see me.
I used to vision you with me,
Holding me at night,
Then it turned all dark
And you were no where in sight.
I used to see you as perfect,
But now I don’t know who you are,
You’re a stranger in my eyes,
In my heart we’re far apart.
Why did you have to lie to me?
And do the things you did?
Take this pain away,
And erase the pain with in.
I can’t promise we’ll be okay,
But I promise that I’ll try,
To give you a second chance,
If you promise not to lie.
I can’t promise not to cry,
For I already did,
I can’t promise forever,
But I promise to try and let you back in.
