When i say i want you to be happy,
i mean it, i really do.
i want you to smile, i want you to laugh,
i want you to just be you.

i want all of your words to be genuine,
i don't want you to have any doubts.
i want the feelings you feel to have no wrong,
but that's not what this is about.

because as long as you are happy,
and this love, you say, is "to be",
it wont matter that all i want is you,
even though you don't want me.

the tears that fall so far from my eyes,
probably wont go away,
but as long as you're happy and laughing again,
i'll pretend to be okay.

my heart is broken beyond repair,
the beats have gotten so low.
but even after all that's gone on,
i don't want to let you go.

so, when i say i want you to be happy,
i mean it, i really do.
but i cannot promise that I will be,
because i will always love you.
