Remember To Breathe

by DeadandBleeding   Sep 27, 2007

Again you go unnoticed:
In a cave sunlight daren't enter.
You wake up strong in the morning,
Your fear quiescent,
Alone in your empty room.

It's breaking you down:
Those involuntary movements you make
As you leave your sanctum,
That everlasting void in your head.

Why can't people try to understand, it's how it's always been:
That dull, dead feeling
And the emptiness inside
Hidden by the face you pull.

The transmutation occurs as faces change:
They meet amidst the broad daylight,
The strength you possessed disappears,
The metastasis moves through limbs,
You can't stop moving

Fatality occurs instantaneously:
Your identity lost,
But your truths shining through,
They look at you with their glaring eyes
Like you're mad.
Ah, but you are, you're certain of it.

The extent of your plight is only equaled
By the power of their stare:
Your face dissolved by their acidic comments,
Your mask eaten away,
There's nothing to cushion your damaged heart, let it bleed.

There is no changing the past:
There you were
Dead wrong
In the worst possible sense
You do the best you can
But things become confusing when you're afraid.

In the end we've all taken turns holding the world:
You do not break
But keep going, none the less,
Just banking on the clouds to clear away
Realize, It is just a matter of time.

When you're older, you will understand:
Remember to smile,
Remember to breathe.
