Trust: The greatest lie

by SiLeNtLy ScReAmInG   Sep 27, 2007

Smiles painted across familiar faces,
Hiding all the things they've done,
Lies continue flowing,
Off their silver tongues.

Each lie's another blade,
Cutting deep into my heart,
Causing it to bleed,
Tearing it apart.

Trust gives people power,
Of which they always abuse,
So sick of this disappointment,
Not going to be used.

No person can be trusted,
They'll take what they need,
Then throw you away,
Wrapped up in their own greed.

The ones you trust the most,
Will leave you lying on the floor,
Your heart bleeding out,
And they're walking out the door.
