A Cry From The Grave

by Poes Raven   Sep 27, 2007

For too long my soul has wandered seeking a body to call home. Cast out of my mortal cage by death, my spirit roams the land of the living seeking peace. Cold and stiff my body lays in hallowed ground. Buried beneath layers of worm filled soil. I stand above my grave staring at my headstone filled with meaningless words carved by those who did not know me or my life. I call out to god to give me another chance! "Return to me my breath" I scream "reanimate my heart to beat in my chest once more! This time I can do it diffrent! This time I will change!" silence is my reply. There is no comfort in the darkness. Only the sound of others like me, crying out for another chance. But you only get one shot at being alive. A body is but a vehicle you only get to drive once. I wasted my chance on petty things and now regret is my only companion. I will forever seek peace and envy the living for the time they have and hate them for wasting it.
