Wake Up or Lie Down

by FELTON PHILLIPS   Sep 27, 2007

Inside the mind of another
I wish I could conceive
Inside the mind of another
What they truly believe

Can you look behind the mask

Tell me what do you see
Is there a soul inside
Just like you and me

Feelings are a thing of the past
Emotions temporary, not meant to last
Mistakes are worn like a scarlet letter
In this unforgiving world people never get better
Life is no longer sacred
and commitment has gone to bed

Wake up or lie down
Just look what I found
Two opposites, I think not
Just two peas in the same pot

In lying down for the last time
you will awaken to find
Life and death are truly entwined
