Whispers

by Beautiful Chaos   Sep 28, 2007

Gently, softly, my love,
Let your answer fall tenderly from your sweet lips,
Love has injured me,
Bound me as though I may not carry on past this moment.

Silence was kept for fear of a fragmented heart,
For I knew that we were an impossible dream,
Now my confession must spill from my heart,
Threatening to crush my mortal soul.

I do not wish to miss this one moment for lack of courage,
Oh to love and be loved,
A chance that cupid may release me from this pain,
So I may breathe the breath of a lover.

While I exhale this pain, this secret,
I pray that your response comes swiftly,
For the agony of anticipation is much greater,
As my mind it waits to inhale.

So gently, softly, my love,
Tell me what is in your heart.
