Relationship Status: Failed

Alone in a room
Far darker than the night
I sit on my bed
A candle my only light

Nothing is quite as it seems
and nothing belongs
I thought it was all perfect
And yet its gone so wrong

I don't know how long I can stay
With someone in this way
Where nothing goes as planned
And only I seem to understand

For everything that goes right
Two mistakes are made
I'm stuck in a relationship
I think cannot be saved

And yet I love the person
With all of my heart
But what can I do now
To stop us falling apart

Methods are old and failing
And words have no effect
I've gone through all my solutions
And now I have nothing left

I wish I could hold onto
What's there but no longer mine
I wish I could find the answers
And somehow pause passing time

But I don't have the power to do that
Let alone fix these wrongs
I guess it's time to accept reality
And realise it was going to fail all along
