State of Love

by La Vita   Sep 28, 2007

This love I feel is above comprehension
One man in love, greatly seeking affection
Tis love, tis lust whatever the master
Spreads my thoughts in a world evermore vaster
But how do I gain this love in return?
I'm but a man with desires that burn
The inside of my heart like coals are flaming
While the feelings within me spread o all unnaming

This love or lust is tearing me asunder
Wherever I go I'm a babbling blunder
In moon or sun I'm always seeking
While these pressuring feelings my soul is weakning
These feelings I bottle will turn me to madness
These feelings I bottle will turn into sadness

Will these two enigmas of my life ever depart?
Will there ever be peace for my yearning heart?
Are these the feelings with which I will die?
Will I give up both sirens without even a try?

Consuming, confusing are these pressures of love
Is it a curse from below or a blessing from above
Inside my cold shell is a fiery lake
A choice to make with my future happiness at stake

Wow, I"m absolutely breathless. This is the most I could ever have related to a poem. The word choice was stunning; the flow flawless. Definitely one of the best pieces I've read on this site for quite some time.
You deserve more than a 5/5.
