Past's Infusion

by Once an Angel   Sep 28, 2007

I have seen hell
And felt exquisite bliss.
Fallen beyond redemption
And somehow
Received forgiveness.
Lost myself
Only to be reformed
Into a perfect stranger.

I have felt a cool ocean breeze
Blow lovingly
Through my hair,
And broke the surface
Of water in a dive.
I have had my heart broken
And clumsily reassembled
With super-glue and duck tape,
But I found out t
hat duck tape couldn't
fix everything
after all.

I've seen loves ones
Fall before my eyes,
To never rise anymore.
I have felt the joy
In helping a wayward
Friend live again.
I have held a budding flower
Breaking away from
Winter's icy grasp,
I have almost lost my life
In a car crash.

I have held
A new born baby,
Like china in my arms,
Sleeping without a care.
I watched the night rise
Into morning's light,
And snow melt away
Into the pal green
Of new spring.

I was inches from death,
Before I realized what
Life could be worth.
Pulled back
Before I could throw away,
My only chance
To make a difference
An imprint that was I here,
And mattered

I have seen everything,
And know nothing at all.
Except perhaps the
Importance of
Knowing that
Courage means to
Rise again,
When you fall.

The lines in this are uneven, which usually throws off the flow, but I don't think that's the case in this one. I believe a lot of people can relate to this as well. You really did an awesome job on this. =] Keep it up.

Very deep and excellently written, with great wording and rhythm from the beginning to the end. I like the topic that you wrote about, very creative.
    My favorite stanza is:

    -I have seen everything,
    And know nothing at all.
    Except perhaps the
    Importance of
    Knowing that
    Courage means to
    Rise again,
    When you fall.-

The ending is also very deep and effective.
    5/5 from me
