Second Guesses & Illusions

by Rachel   Sep 29, 2007

My eyes sting from the lack of sleep.
You are here,
You are here all the time,
And I can't move on.
Headlights outside my window keep me calm,
They remind me that time is still moving.
Life is still passing by.
These past two years seem like a blur, a dream,
And I can't tell dream from reality.
The clock hits 5 AM and my eyes are wide open.
The sun starts to creep up the hills,
Ready to shine over another day.
But it all seems the same to me.
Illusions play in my head, like a film strip,
But I shouldn't let myself fall into the dream again,
No, I shouldn't second guess myself again,
Because you were never really there,
No, you were never really there.
