but i couldn't find that one color
that was just right
that one color that brought the that special light
all the colors were to dull
I looked for that color that gave that twinkle in your eye
but i looked and could not find
i looked for that shade of pink for you lips
i looked but did not find
all the colors that made you
were all gone
i could not find them
not even one
i tried to paint you a picture
but all the colors were all wrong
so the canvas stood there on its post
white and nothing done
not one spec of paint
not even one
i seat there staring for hours
at this blank canvas
just sitting there with nothing done
the picture was in my mind
it was clear as day
every shade i needed was all there
