Wings of Flames

by dollwithafrown   Sep 30, 2007

With these wings I'll fly so high,
For all the days I've had to cry,
For all the times I've crashed and burned,
The wings will sour, and the fire will run.

My demons: squashed, with each small flap.
Pride returns at the completion of each lap.
My past floats behind me, gone with the wind.
I look up high, and I start to grin.

My life has meaning, once again,
But what time is this? I stopped counting after ten.
It's the same sorry story, the memorised tale;
My life at the start before it begins to fail.

So with these wings I'll soar so high,
Forgetting those tears I used to cry.
But this feeling won't last long, it'll take a turn,
And these wings of flames will fall and burn.

The emotion, flow, and everything was amazing. The rhyming though, well, I wasn't too fond of it. A lot of it was just. . . . kind of cheesy. If that makes sense, because it wasn't really cheesy. I know it's confusing, but the rhyming wasn't all that great, but the lines themself were amazing. (:

Have you ever tried freewriting? If so, let me know, I'd like to check them out.

Among all three poems that i've read from you , i must say i really enjoy and really love this one.. why? so inspirational, so powerful (full of emotions and courage that one day you'll surpass and withstand every life's challenges ) and the imagination is different from the usual sad poem that i've already read. hmm.. a real master of the heart!! really deserve 5!! keep it up!!
