The Songs To Die For

by hippiehxc   Sep 30, 2007

There's not one song in this album that makes me forget.
I'm quick to change them for fear I'll remember something I regret.
I keep listening to the last song that touched your ears.
It shatters my heart, just knowing that you're not here.

I remember that night when were in the car.
You turned to me and told me you knew we'd go far.
It's been four months since you decided to clean up your act.
I keep looking out the window, not knowing if you'll come back.

Two more months go by and you're still nowhere to be found.
I'm debating on whether or not I should stick around.
You're my high, the drug that keeps my blood flowing.
I could run for miles, thinking about you and not care about where I'm going.

These lines are getting long, and the nights are getting cold.
I've lived for you, and all the promises you couldn't uphold.
The time has come for me to realize what's going on.
I've been so naive. There was no reason to hold on this long.

So I'll say goodbye with this one final letter.
I wish you the best, and hope you get better.
