Writing away the pain

Pain torments my arm as I write away
Writing away throughout my day
You see this is my only way
To say the words I cannot say

Writing away the demon in my life
Writing away the choice of the knife
Praying that the battle will end
Praying that I still can mend

The pain twinges my arm again
The pain, making my heart strain
Grounding me from thoughts of hope
Making it even harder to cope

Writing away my thoughts inside
Writing away the urge to hide
Writing away pain and guilt
This dark mess that my life has built
