Distinguish

by Byron   Oct 1, 2007

The sky looks a little lonely tonight,
If there is anything we could do to make it feel as pretty as it is,
We could take the time to see,
The beauty it bestows upon us,
We would notice its comfort that blankets us.
Like the eyes that heal our wounds

The clouds look a little rushed today,
They push their way through the thickness of the sky,
If it was possible just to ask a favor of them,
We would ask for an image of love,
A distilled picture of truth
A dream hung in the sky.

The wind seems a little quiet today,
It's fading through the trees
If only we could make it see how much we're in need
The lonely ones will crave its words
That it whispers in their starving ears

The water looks a little still today,
For what action can we take?
The air is too cold to give it a stir
And no rock wants to skip along the top
As their too heavy to float it realize its fate
Just waiting for the day that someone will save them
We always seem to sit and just wait

The trees look bored this morning
They sit and they sway to a tune of decay
Just sprouting to achieve a goal that's so dull.
If anyone could see that the trees are in need
We would climb up there limbs and talk to the leaves
All our secrets that depress our hearts at home in our chests.

The grass seems to be fading in green,
They lean to one side and slip into dreams,
Of impressing the by standers the strangers that stare,
Their outsides try to gleam but they're filled with despair,
And any wish they send to the sky,
Just fails to be answered and leak from their eyes lacking details.

The Flowers are looking worn on the inside.
They wasted their efforts to stand so bright,
With their perfect posture they begin to feel weak,
And the poisonous thoughts spread form their pedals for us to see
The loneliness they share all together so proud
But one by one they start to scowl out loud,
Knowing their time will come and nothing can be done.

The sun is looking a bit shy behind the clouds.
As it hides its joy that heats our grounds.
It's waiting for someone or a reason to breathe
A reason to keep shining for all,
When it's hard for it to understand why
It would rather just hide and let life rot and die
Cause no one really embraces its heat
Or no one really cares or dreams of him when fast asleep.
