Forever Fading

by Tammie   Oct 1, 2007

I'm anything but everything to you,
Promises mean nothing when they all fall through.
Sweet, but sour words fall on desperate ears,
No hand to hold or to wipe away the tears.

Your welcoming smile melts my heart inside,
Yet your cold words are the reason I cried.
Now I know love is just a state of mind,
The reason for living, of which I can't find.

Forever fading are the memories we shared,
Forgotten like the feeling when I once knew you cared.
I've fallen to the bottom of your list of to-do's,
And somehow I know this game of love, I'm about to lose.

** Not that happy with this one.. but I'm not sure what I was aiming for. **
