Ignorance Is A Killer

by Tammie   Oct 2, 2007

Used, refused and
Chemically abused.
Self-mutilation
Mixed with
Intoxication.
The kid no one ever
Paid attention to,
Is forced into the faces
Of all but a few.
Hanging from his rooftop,
Swaying slightly in the breeze,
Covered in blood,
Eventually,
He was let down with ease.
No one ever asked him
How his day had been,
Or the simple things in life,
Then maybe they would have seen,
How all this boy needed
Was someone to be his friend,
Ignorance is a killer,
Who saw this boy to his end.

    Terrific poem.
i always pick the right times to chose to review some of ur work.
i come back and read something that shows me how much you've grown, and how great ur work is.

    the rhyming was near flawless.
    the ending was superb.
    5/5 easy.

First off I wan to say sorry I havn't commented on alot of your poems in awhile just been busy you know how it is. Well this ws quite different from you usual I must say. I really love it thogh expecially your word usage they were quite deep and powerful which portrayed a great effect over me while reading. A sadly written poem and i'm glad to see you writing again. 5/5 ~Mel

You switched rhyme patterns. It threw me off. And i didnt like how choppy the lines were. ><
What I did like though.. Is the image, the moral, and the vocabulary. All of this cancells out what I said above.
The moral especially is great. It shouts, "Pay attention to those who need it." Kind of like how we talked about that last night.
Or have faith in the ones that people never see.

Nice to see you writing again, love.
