Dying With Every Smile

by Jenni Marie   Oct 2, 2007

Icy frozen tears streaming down this face
Melancholy gripping this broken soul
This body convulsing with painful sobs
Wanting to scream, I'm losing control

In public, I'll giggle and laugh
Fill time with meaningless jokes
Outwardly appearing happy
While inside I'll silently choke

Tears devouring me when I'm alone
Heart breaking a little more each day
Everyone oblivious to this inner torment
Guess that I'm really not doing okay

Don't know how much more I can take
No longer convinced life is worthwhile
Becoming so tired of pretending
Because I'm dying with every smile
