When You're Gone

by Midnight Sun   Oct 3, 2007

When you are not here
I can't see your face
I can't sense your warmth
I can't feel your embrace

I can't breathe alone
I can't keep going on
My hands are shaking
Only when you're gone

So stay here tonight
Please rescue me
From this horrible pain
That comes when you leave

Only you can save me
From the torture I endure
From this rare disease
You are the only cure

Release what's built up in me
The agony I feel from loneliness
You help me forget my agony
With your tender, careful caress

So stay here tonight
Please rescue me
From this horrible pain
That comes when you leave

    I can't breathe alone

^That line really shows the desperation and need the person has for their other half. It's really great. It shows their like your oxygen and life isn't the same without them. Great poem! Really enjoyed it!

LOVED this poem! It had a great rhyme and flow to it. But the 2nd to last stanza was off in flow from the rest of the poem. I like the desperation the piece has from the very beginning! Good job!
