Goodbyee daddy

Ever since i was young you've been very ill
not till i was older did i realize your pain was real
you got worse over time
your speech and sight went slowly
never have i felt as sad or ever been as lonely
spending time together, i learnt to deal with you
how to speak and how to act,praising all you do
and then your pain was other
and ours had just begun
thank god your in a better place
where u can walk and run
please watch over us all always
and help us through this pain
i wish that just once more
i could see you smiling face again
missing you always
forever in my heart

i read this poem at my dads funeral in august 2006, after 10 years fighting he'd finally been beaten... never forgotten..x
