The World Falls Away [Acrostic]

by Pete   Oct 3, 2007

Things gone wrong in this world but all try to strive.
How to right our wrongs while we push to survive,
Everyone's special - yet some get deprived.

We're the same, there's no shame; evolutionary prime.
Only your parents stand sentinel, all around you is lies.
React on your emotion, with less devotion to pride.
Live together, you can forever decide not to collide.
Do unto others, because none of you can deny,

For the luxuries you allow help to starve the deprived.
All religion put aside, you have a chance to decide.
Living blind; now's the time to open your eyes,
Live life non belligerent. Have you really tried?
Subtle gestures in a time when real effort's to be applied.

An addict that sees the signs - no longer living blind,
Wishing he could stop and then truly tries.
A life lived in luxury - while others demise.
You could all live as equals with just a little compromise!

*An acrostic poem has a word, phrase or name spelled out vertically down one of the edges; usually the left edge. A double acrostic has one word down the left edge and another word down the right edge.*
