Simple as the sky could be

by Indian Comma Bean   Oct 4, 2007

Simple as the sky could be,
this peace exists with you and me,
where love could always ever be,
where might you go when they break free.

Where might my tears go,
when these eyes that cry
do not know if what they see
is that of some truth or falsity.

Lucidity blinded by petulance,
these crooked smiles
and these wrought eyes,
they show your well kept lies.

No one ever knew what we were like,
between our fingers we kept weak ties,
always going in another direction,
one or the other dragging such recession.

After the years it became so unbearable,
the arguments we had each night and
the fake masks we put on display,
if only they knew what we had been through.

Love was never as easy as one through three,
for when was it that easy for you and me.
Behind those white pearls and your emerald eyes,
you kept a harsh tongue that broke your disguise.

Simple as the sky could be,
this peace ceases with you and me,
where love could always never be,
where might I go when you break free.
