The Queen of Everything

by HOLLYWOODxBANGBANG   Oct 4, 2007

Diamonds and pearls lace the golden walls,
Lollipop bedposts line a mattress of gum balls.
A dazzling crown sits on the top of her head,
Lined with a dozen diamonds colored ruby red.

On top of the castle, stands one little girl so proud;
Clearing a voice, words travel through her crowd.
Villagers -- made up of all colors, shapes and sizes;
Gather `round and listen as their queen rationalizes.

A smile is set between dimples on her face,
As a light shines down on her innocent grace.
Dancing in circles, her dress lightly twirled,
Arms up high in the air, swearing to change the world.

Lights out -- teddy bears freeze and sit still,
As rains drips upon her wooden window sill.
Lollipops and gum balls slowly fade away,
The walls turn blue, until another rainy day.

The Queen of everything, laying down to sleep,
Yawns as night consumes her, takes her deep.
The moon laughs through the curtains drawn,
And the world outside turns, life carries on.

If this was confusing, it`s explaining a child`s imagination about a 'perfect world' .

    I love this. The concept is original and you told your story so well. Great descriptions, creating detailed imagery. I could imagine the whole scene as I read it. Your rhyming is perfect, along with the flow. You wrapped it all up with a strong ending.
    A very enjoyable read. 5/5

    Loved it! I love stuff through the eyes of a child and what it was like when we used to use OUR imaginations. It's nice to revisit that place through poetry and you did a nice job of that. Good job! 5/5
