You Will Shine On

by Weeping Wolf   Oct 4, 2007

Did they just announce our last dance?
Are they saying it's time for our last song?
You turn my way. And I knew. It was true.

Old broken pieces can't pay for a new romance
He may be a splendid lover but he can't dance
the way you made me spin and fly on clouds...

But you were never good at goodbyes
Are the words that brim inside my eyes
As you walk away for the millionth time.

Though darkness penetrates
My sun starts singing...
And I cannot stop the faint smile
And I whisper "Shine on..
Shine on, shine on my love, just shine on
Close those eyes till everyone else is gone
So no one can break the seas we were swinging on!
And we'll shine on...
Shine on
Shine on
Shine on...

Even with your heart in her hands
We can't distinguish our smiles and songs
Because I am no longer asking for you
I am screaming at the top of my lungs.
So Shine on!
Shine on!
Shine on!

But still so softly
I'll forever sing...
Shine on...
Oh, shine on...
just shine on...

As you walk away. A smile still on my face.
With the secret promise you left for me.
